Date:

Rising cricket talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has set his sights firmly on helping Rajasthan Royals win the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 season. The young opening batter has made it clear that despite early achievements he is focused on future goals rather than past success.

Since making his IPL debut in 2025 the talented left handed opener has rapidly built a reputation as one of the most exciting young players in Indian cricket. After his first IPL season he impressed in Youth One Day Internationals against teams like England Under-19 cricket team, Australia Under-19 cricket team, and South Africa Under-19 cricket team.

His standout moment came during the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup final where he produced a spectacular innings of 175 runs from just 80 balls against England. His match winning performance helped India national under-19 cricket team secure a record sixth title in the tournament.

Despite the growing recognition the young batter insists his main focus is the upcoming IPL season. Speaking during the BCCI Naman Awards, Sooryavanshi said his primary objective is to contribute strongly to his team’s victories and ultimately lift the IPL trophy with Rajasthan Royals.

The youngster first entered the IPL spotlight when Rajasthan Royals signed him in 2024 for ₹1.1 crore making him one of the youngest players to secure an IPL contract. The player from Samastipur in Bihar revealed that the franchise had been closely monitoring his performances in domestic and under nineteen cricket before offering him the opportunity.

He explained that joining Rajasthan Royals has helped him improve both as a cricketer and as an individual thanks to the guidance of senior players and the coaching staff.

A key influence in his development has been legendary Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid who previously served as head coach of the Rajasthan Royals. During Sooryavanshi’s first training camp the experienced mentor played a major role in guiding the youngster and helping him adapt to the competitive IPL environment.

The upcoming IPL season will start on March 28 with the opening match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Rajasthan Royals will begin their campaign on March 30 when they face Chennai Super Kings in what promises to be an exciting contest.

With confidence high and determination strong Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hopes to play a key role in helping Rajasthan Royals chase their next IPL title.
