Vivo and iQOO have started rolling out the Funtouch OS 15 update for their smartphones in India, marking a significant milestone as one of the first OEMs to introduce Android 15 on their devices, surpassing even Samsung and Google. This update introduces advanced algorithms, improved animations and effects, and AI-powered features designed to enhance user experience.
The rollout for Funtouch OS 15 has begun with the iQOO 12, with other models from both brands expected to receive the update in the upcoming weeks. Vivo has confirmed that the Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15 beta update is now available for the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and X100 series.
The Funtouch OS 15 update includes a smart scheduling algorithm that allocates computing power to apps and tasks based on their priority and requirements. System dynamic effects have been optimized, resulting in more natural animations, thanks to the new Origin animation. This improvement also enhances tactical response, ensuring a better user experience.
The update offers various static and live wallpapers, new always-on display styles, four new fingerprint recognition animations, and an improved icon library. Additionally, it introduces features like Memory Movie, shadow removal for documents, clean-up suggestions, and new quick settings for Ultra Game Mode.
AI features in the Android 15 update for Vivo smartphones include AI Photo Enhance, which optimizes image parameters for better quality, and AI Erase, an object removal tool. These features are part of the new AI Image Lab. Another notable addition is live transcribe, which provides transcriptions of spoken on-screen content.
Enhanced cross-device operability is achieved with the improved Link to Windows feature, allowing users to sync contacts, share files, and view recent photos in real-time across devices. The S-Capture feature has also been revamped to support multiple audio tracks and annotations during screen recording, including a control panel for microphone and system sound settings.
