Dubai’s popular dining destination Jun’s has unveiled a new six-course tasting experience designed for food lovers who want a curated journey without committing to a lengthy degustation. Created by chef Kelvin Cheung, the menu offers a compact yet immersive showcase of the restaurant’s signature creativity and global influences.
Priced at Dhs225, the experience—titled ‘The Short Story’—takes diners through a series of dishes inspired by the chef’s personal travels and culinary background. The meal begins with a standout lobster pani puri, a refined and playful take on one of Jun’s most recognizable starters. This is followed by a refreshing watermelon dish paired with dry-aged sea bream and finished with wasabi-infused olive oil, reflecting cross-cultural inspiration.
The progression continues with a hot and sour wonton soup that pays tribute to Chef Kelvin’s roots, blending family tradition with modern techniques. Featuring scallops and delicate mini wontons, the dish highlights both comfort and sophistication.
For the main course, guests can choose between two indulgent options. One is a wagyu steak served alongside handmade noodles, while the other is a juicy Lucy-style wagyu burger filled with melted cheese and complemented by onions pickles and jalapeño.
Dessert rounds off the experience with a narrative-driven approach. Diners are treated to a loomi paleta, inspired by regional flavors, followed by a rich pu-erh chocolate ganache that reflects childhood memories and personal storytelling. The experience concludes with a box of signature petit fours, adding a playful and nostalgic finish.
Available daily from noon until 1am at its Downtown Dubai location, this tasting menu provides a more accessible way to explore Jun’s innovative cuisine while still capturing the essence of its storytelling approach to food.
