Last October, Xiaomi introduced HyperOS with the Xiaomi 14 series, replacing its MIUI skin. Now, the Chinese tech giant appears to be experimenting with the next iteration of its custom Android interface, HyperOS 2.0, on a select range of devices. Although Xiaomi has yet to disclose the release schedule for HyperOS 2.0, which is based on Android 15, internal versions of the interface have been identified on several Xiaomi and Redmi phones, including the soon-to-be-released Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro.

According to a report by GizmoChina, internal versions of HyperOS 2.0 were detected on the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, carrying firmware versions OS2.0.1.5.VOCCNXM and OS2.0.1.2.VOBCNXM, respectively. The publication also provided an image of the test version on a Xiaomi device.

The firmware versions for internal builds on the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and Xiaomi 14 Ultra are reportedly OS2.0.0.24.VNCCNXM, OS2.0.0.22.VNBCNXM, and OS2.0.0.16.VNACNXM, respectively.

Xiaomi has not announced the roadmap for HyperOS 2.0, which is built on Android 15. However, the report suggests that these Xiaomi models will receive the update initially: Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi Mix Fold, Xiaomi Mix Flip, Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro, and Xiaomi Civi 2.

Internal testing of HyperOS 2.0 has also begun for the Redmi K70, Redmi K70 Pro, Redmi K70 Ultra, Redmi K60, Redmi K70E, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 13R, according to the publication.

Expected Features of HyperOS 2.0

HyperOS 2.0 is anticipated to be launched later this month in China. The original HyperOS was first introduced in China in October 2023 with the Xiaomi 14 series, and updates featuring the new interface were released in India earlier this year.

The HyperOS 2.0 update is expected to introduce several new features and AI-powered functionalities for Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices. This update may include a redesigned Game Turbo mode with customization options, optimization tools to enhance gaming performance, and the ability to detect hidden cameras through wireless local-area network (WLAN) searches.
