Sharjeel Khan added late momentum with an unbeaten 51, ensuring a challenging target for Multan.
In response, Multan Sultans came out aggressively, with Farhan and Steve Smith putting together a rapid 83-run stand during the powerplay. Farhan reached his half-century in just 25 deliveries, while Smith contributed a quickfire 46 before departing in the ninth over.
Despite losing wickets at intervals, Farhan remained composed and led the chase with determination. He brought up his century with a calm approach and finished the game in style by hitting a six, sealing a dominant victory for Multan.
This innings proved historic for Farhan, as he registered his ninth T20 century, surpassing Rohit Sharma’s tally of eight hundreds. He also equalled Virat Kohli and Rilee Rossouw in the list of players with the most T20 centuries, placing him among the elite names in the format. Only Chris Gayle Babar Azam and David Warner currently sit ahead.
Adding to the achievement, Farhan became the second-fastest batter to reach nine T20 centuries, achieving the milestone in just 160 innings, behind only Chris Gayle. His consistency and match-winning performance underline his growing stature in T20 cricket.
The victory marked Multan Sultans’ second consecutive win this season, strengthening their position in the tournament. They are set to face Lahore Qalandars in their upcoming match as they look to continue their winning momentum.
