Vivo X Fold 6 Leak Suggests MediaTek Processor and Powerful 200MP Camera Upgrade

Date:

The upcoming Vivo X Fold 6 is already creating buzz ahead of its expected launch later this year, with fresh leaks hinting at major hardware and design changes. According to recent reports, Vivo may move away from Qualcomm processors for its next foldable flagship and instead introduce a MediaTek chipset for the first time in the X Fold series.

Industry insiders suggest the device could feature the new MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, replacing the Snapdragon chipsets used in previous generations. Earlier rumours had pointed toward a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, but newer information now indicates Vivo may be testing a different direction for performance and efficiency in its upcoming foldable phone.

The new foldable is also expected to bring several design refinements. Reports indicate the phone may arrive with a flat inner display, softer rounded corners, and a large circular rear camera module. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner is also rumored to be included, continuing Vivo’s focus on sleek yet functional foldable designs.

Camera upgrades appear to be one of the biggest highlights of the Vivo X Fold 6. The device is tipped to feature a triple rear camera setup led by a massive 200-megapixel primary sensor. Supporting cameras could include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering up to 3x optical zoom. If accurate, this would represent a major improvement over the previous model, which featured three 50-megapixel sensors.

Battery life may also see a significant boost, with rumours suggesting the foldable could pack a large 7,000mAh battery, potentially making it one of the biggest batteries seen in a premium foldable smartphone.

The predecessor, Vivo X Fold 5, launched in India last year with flagship-level specifications and premium pricing. The new model is expected to debut first in China before arriving in global markets, possibly around the same launch period as its predecessor.

With upgraded cameras, a possible new chipset strategy, and a refined foldable design, the Vivo X Fold 6 could become one of the most competitive foldable smartphones expected in 2026.
