Xiaomi has introduced a groundbreaking feature called HyperConnect, which allows users to effortlessly transfer files between Xiaomi and Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This feature is part of the latest HyperOS 2.0 update and requires both Apple and Xiaomi devices to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, demonstrated the HyperConnect feature in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). The demonstration included a video showing how users can transfer files from a Xiaomi 15 Pro to Apple devices with a single click. Once a file is selected, nearby Apple devices automatically appear in the share menu, and the transfer is completed in seconds.
Lei Jun emphasized the company’s commitment to creating an ecosystem that seamlessly integrates with Apple products, reflecting a vision of connected and collaborative technology. Additionally, the HyperConnect feature enables Xiaomi users to access Apple Keynote files and other proprietary formats without conversion. Users can also mirror their Xiaomi 15 Pro screens on a MacBook, provided both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
While these features show great promise, it is currently unclear if an initial setup is required. The HyperOS 2.0 update, including HyperConnect, is presently available only in China, with no official announcement regarding its global release.
The inspiration for HyperConnect stems from Xiaomi’s SU7 electric vehicle project, which aimed to create an EV highly compatible with Apple products after Apple halted its smart car project earlier this year.
