Jonathan Bailey Confirms Return to Bridgerton for Season 4 on Late Night with Seth Meyers

Date:

Jonathan Bailey has officially announced his return to the popular Netflix series ‘Bridgerton’ for its highly anticipated fourth season. The actor, who won hearts as Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, shared the exciting news during his appearance on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’. Expressing his enthusiasm, Bailey revealed his plans to reunite with the ‘Bridgerton’ family as the new season’s production kicks off next week.

Bailey, who led the series’ second season alongside Simone Ashley, will rejoin the ensemble cast for the next installment of the Shonda Rhimes-produced period drama. Reflecting on the show’s unique format, Bailey noted the ever-changing lead cast each season, stating, “It changes every year, you know, every two years.” His excitement about being part of such a dynamic project was evident.

At 36, Bailey fondly reminisced about his journey with ‘Bridgerton’, calling it “an amazing thing to be a part of.” His breakout role in season two as Anthony Bridgerton paved the way for his return in season three, where he starred alongside Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton. Looking ahead to season four, Bailey expressed his support for the new lead cast members, including his on-screen brother Luke Thompson and the newly announced Yerin Ha, who will play a central role in the upcoming season.

As production begins, fans can anticipate many family moments, with Anthony and his brother Colin playing key roles in Benedict Bridgerton’s love story. Season four will focus on Benedict, the second son of the Bridgerton family, who finds himself reluctant to settle down until he meets a mysterious woman at Violet Bridgerton’s masquerade ball. This storyline, based on Julia Quinn’s ‘An Offer from a Gentleman’, promises to captivate viewers with Benedict’s romantic journey.

While there’s no official release date for the new season, Bridgerton producer Brownell has hinted that fans might need to wait up to two years due to the extensive production process and the busy schedules of the cast. Meanwhile, Bailey is keeping occupied with the promotion of ‘Wicked’, the much-anticipated film adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical. Directed by John M. Chu, the movie features Bailey as Fiyero, alongside Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda. Additionally, Bailey is set to star in the next ‘Jurassic World’ movie as paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis, with the film slated for release in 2025.
