According to recent information from a well-known tipster, the X Fold 4 is expected to be equipped with a new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and an IPX8 rating for resistance to dust and water. Additionally, the foldable device is rumored to have a battery capacity exceeding 6,000mAh, along with support for wireless charging. The Vivo X Fold 4 is also said to include a 50-megapixel primary rear camera.

Tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) posted on Weibo, providing early details about the Vivo X Fold 4. The tipster indicated that Vivo has delayed the launch of this foldable phone. The Vivo X Fold 3, which was released in China this April, had set the expectation for the Vivo X Fold 4 to be unveiled around the same time next year.

The Vivo X Fold 4 is rumored to feature a battery larger than 6,000mAh, which would be an improvement over the Vivo X Fold 3’s 5,500mAh battery.

Samsung Wins Patent for a Tri-Fold Smartphone With Specialised Barrier Layer for Improved Durability Despite the larger battery, the Vivo X Fold 4 is expected to maintain a slim and lightweight design. The device is tipped to come with dual ultrasonic fingerprint sensors and an IPX8 rating for dust and water resistance. The upcoming model is said to boast a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

The Vivo X Fold 3 was launched earlier this year with a starting price of CNY 6,999 (approximately Rs. 80,000) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, the Vivo X Fold 3 features an 8.03-inch primary 2K AMOLED display and a 6.53-inch AMOLED cover screen. It includes a triple camera system on the rear with a 50-megapixel VCS bionic main camera and 32-megapixel selfie cameras on both the internal and external screens. The foldable has an IPX4-rated build.
