Qualcomm has introduced its latest Snapdragon G series chipsets designed for handheld gaming consoles, with the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 leading the lineup. This high-end processor brings advanced gaming capabilities, including support for 144Hz Quad HD+ displays, ray tracing, and Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen system. Alongside this, Qualcomm has also revealed the Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 and Snapdragon G1 Gen 2, catering to midrange and entry-level gaming devices.
Snapdragon G3 Gen 3: High-Performance Gaming Chipset
The Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 is an octa-core processor built for premium handheld consoles. It features one prime core, five performance cores, and two efficiency cores, paired with an Adreno A32 GPU. This chipset supports real-time ray tracing, allowing for ultra-realistic graphics. It also integrates Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 for seamless connectivity.
Compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2, the new Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 delivers a 30% improvement in GPU performance and a 28% boost in CPU efficiency.
Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 and Snapdragon G1 Gen 2: Midrange and Entry-Level Chips

✔ Snapdragon G1 Gen 2: Targeted at cloud gaming and budget-friendly consoles, this chipset houses two performance cores, six efficiency cores, and an Adreno A12 GPU. It supports 1080p gameplay at 120Hz, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.1.
Snapdragon G Series Availability and Upcoming Consoles
Several gaming brands, including Ayaneo, OneXSugar, and Retroid Pocket, are gearing up to launch handheld consoles powered by these new Snapdragon processors. The Ayaneo Pocket S2 and OneXSugar Sugar 1 will be powered by Snapdragon G3 Gen 3, while the Retroid Pocket Classic will feature Snapdragon G1 Gen 2. These gaming consoles are expected to hit the market in the coming weeks.
