Dubai, UAE – June 3, 2024 – Two of Dubai’s most beloved beaches, Al Mamzar and Jumeirah (1), are slated for a grand makeover with an investment of Dhs355 million, aiming to elevate them to world-class standards as part of the city’s 2040 urban master plan.
DUBAI
The ambitious development project will include the creation of Dubai’s first floating pedestrian bridge at Al Mamzar, a 200-meter marvel that will link both sides of the beach. Additionally, a new 5km pedestrian path and an 11km cycling track will connect the two beaches, promoting a more accessible and active lifestyle for residents and visitors.
Al Mamzar beach will see a transformation of 4.3 kilometers, while Jumeirah (1) beach will undergo a redevelopment of 1.4 kilometers. Both beaches will remain partially open during the 18-month renovation period, ensuring continued public access.
The project will introduce high-tech services and systems to the beaches, including free Wi-Fi, electronic screens, and advanced safety deposit boxes. More than ten modern cameras will be installed to ensure the safety and security of beachgoers.
One of the highlights of the makeover is Dubai’s first 24/7 night swimming beach at Deira, offering a unique experience for those who enjoy a late-night dip.
The makeover will also bring a host of new amenities, including commercial outlets, kiosks, restaurants, and self-service food and beverage machines. Additionally, there will be 1,400 parking spaces, including dedicated charging stations for eco-friendly vehicles.
More than half a million cubic meters of beach sand will be utilized in the project, based on comprehensive studies to ensure the protection and sustainability of Dubai’s beaches.
This significant investment aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to develop public beaches in Dubai to be among the best globally.
