Protein-Packed Heart-Shaped Sandwich: The Perfect Post-Workout or Mid-Day Energy Boost

The best part? Instead of using mayonnaise or butter, this sandwich uses hung curd, which is rich in probiotics to support gut health. Ingredients:

  • Whole wheat bread slices – 2
  • Hung curd – 40g
  • Grated cabbage – 10g
  • Grated carrot – 10g
  • Grated beetroot – 20g
  • Red bell pepper (thin slices) – 10g
  • Onion (thin slices) – 15g
  • Sunflower seeds – ½ tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves – 1-2 sprigs
  • A dash of lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper – ½ tsp

Method:

  1. In a large bowl, combine all the grated vegetables.
  2. Add hung curd, spices, sunflower seeds, and a dash of lemon juice. Toss everything together until you get a blush pink mixture.
  3. Take two slices of whole wheat bread and cut one into a large heart shape using a big heart-shaped cutter. Set this piece aside.
  4. From the second slice, cut out a smaller heart shape in the center using a mini heart-shaped cutter.
  5. Scoop a tablespoon of the vegetable-curd mixture and spread it over the base heart-shaped bread.
  6. Place the smaller heart-shaped bread slice on top so the filling is visible in the center.
  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve!
