Xiaomi appears to be preparing for the debut of its next-generation foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, with launch details now surfacing online. According to reliable leaks, the device is likely to be introduced in June 2025, making it the only foldable handset from Xiaomi this year. This follows the initial release of the original Xiaomi Mix Flip in July 2024, which marked the brand’s entry into the clamshell-style foldable phone market.
The upcoming Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is rumored to feature Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, suggesting a significant boost in performance compared to its predecessor. Alongside its flagship processor, the device is expected to sport a 6.85-inch LTPO OLED inner display with 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution, promising a premium viewing experience.
Reports suggest that the Mix Flip 2 will house a dual rear camera system comprising a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. For battery capacity, the foldable is tipped to pack a 5,100mAh unit, supporting fast wired charging at 67W, as revealed through a recent appearance on China’s 3C certification website under model number 2505APX7BC.
Additional leaks hint at several high-end features, including a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IPX8 water resistance, and a slim 7.6mm body weighing about 190 grams. These design elements further position the Mix Flip 2 as a premium foldable contender.
Unlike other upcoming Xiaomi devices like the Redmi K80 Extreme Edition and a new Redmi gaming tablet—which are also anticipated in June—the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is expected to be launched at a separate dedicated event, highlighting its standalone significance in the company’s 2025 portfolio.
Last year’s Mix Flip launched at CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs. 69,000) in China for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, later expanding to select international markets by September 2024. That model ran on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, featured a 4.01-inch cover screen, a 6.86-inch main display, and Leica-branded dual rear cameras. The upcoming Mix Flip 2 aims to build on this foundation with updated internals and refined design.
