Oppo is reportedly preparing to launch its next-generation flagship smartphone, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra, as the successor to the Find X8 Ultra introduced earlier this year in China. According to a new leak, the upcoming handset could feature a revolutionary camera setup, potentially making it one of the most advanced photography smartphones in the market.
Leaked information suggests that the Oppo Find X9 Ultra might debut with a 200-megapixel primary sensor, accompanied by another 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, which could also offer macro shooting capabilities. This dual high-resolution camera configuration is expected to deliver exceptional zoom functionality and detailed image capture. The device could also house a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and an additional 50-megapixel “super periscope” camera, reportedly capable of up to 10x optical zoom, further enhancing long-range photography.
These advanced imaging features come alongside a high-performance chipset believed to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, identified by the model number SM8850. This chipset has not yet been officially announced but is likely to power the Ultra variant, offering flagship-grade performance and efficiency.
Oppo is expected to expand the Find X9 series with four different models: the base Find X9, Find X9 Plus, Find X9 Pro, and the top-tier Find X9 Ultra. If the brand follows its usual release cycle, the first three models may launch around October, while the Ultra variant could arrive in select regions by early 2026.
The rest of the lineup may feature MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500 processor. Design leaks suggest screen sizes of 6.3 inches, 6.59 inches, and 6.78 inches across the Find X9, Plus, and Pro models respectively, all offering 1.5K flat displays with ultra-slim bezels made possible by LIPO (low-injection pressure over-moulding) technology.
The Find X8 Ultra, launched previously, features a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, Hasselblad camera tuning, and multiple 50-megapixel sensors, including a Sony LYT-900 main lens, Sony LYT-700 3x telephoto, and Sony LYT-600 6x periscope telephoto. The X8 Ultra also features a 2-megapixel spectral sensor and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
If these leaks prove accurate, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra could raise the bar for smartphone photography, especially with its powerful dual 200MP rear cameras and enhanced zoom capabilities, making it a strong contender in the premium smartphone market.
