At Computex 2025, AMD officially introduced its next-generation high-performance computing lineup, including the powerful Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series processors and the Radeon RX 9060 XT and Radeon AI PRO R9700 GPUs. Designed to meet the demands of content creators, AI developers, and gamers, these new offerings deliver top-tier specifications and performance enhancements.
The flagship chip in the Ryzen Threadripper 9000 PRO WX lineup is the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX, boasting a massive 96-core configuration with support for 192 threads and a peak clock speed reaching 5.4GHz. It features an L3 cache of up to 384MB and supports PCIe 5.0 with 128 lanes, making it ideal for advanced workflows like VFX rendering, simulations, and artificial intelligence development.
AMD has rolled out six new processors under the PRO 9000 WX banner, along with three additional models in the standard Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series, which are optimized for creative professionals and developers running localized AI tasks. These standard variants offer up to 64 cores and 350W TDP, allowing users to handle complex workloads without cloud dependency.
Alongside the processors, AMD introduced the Radeon RX 9060 XT GPU, available in two memory configurations: 8GB and 16GB of GDDR6. The graphics card incorporates up to 32 RDNA 4 compute units and supports a maximum boost clock of 3.13GHz. AMD claims the RX 9060 XT delivers twice the ray tracing performance compared to previous generation GPUs, making it suitable for both high-end gaming and professional graphics applications. It also includes features like FSR 4 and FP8 support for better AI processing and improved frame rates.
Another major announcement was the Radeon AI PRO R9700 GPU, geared towards enterprise AI workloads. With 64 RDNA compute units, 32GB of GDDR6 memory, and up to 2.92GHz boost clock speed, this card supports second-gen AI acceleration and can be used in multi-GPU environments. AMD confirmed Linux support via the ROCm software stack, with Windows compatibility expected soon.
The Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series processors will be available for purchase in July through major retailers. The PRO 9000 WX chips will be distributed via OEM partners like Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Supermicro in the coming months. As for the Radeon RX 9060 XT, it will hit the shelves later this year, priced at $299 for the 8GB model and $349 for the 16GB version. GPU manufacturers including ASUS, Acer, ASRock, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire, Vastarmor, XFX, and Yeston will offer this new model.
Meanwhile, the Radeon AI PRO R9700 will also launch in July, although AMD has yet to announce its official pricing. With cutting-edge specifications across the board, AMD’s new processor and GPU lineup showcases its continued commitment to innovation in high-performance computing.
