Hollywood actress Ana de Armas recently opened up about receiving heartfelt support from Tom Cruise for her upcoming action thriller Ballerina, which takes place in the John Wick cinematic universe. While rumours continue to swirl about a possible romance between the two stars, Ana expressed sincere appreciation for Tom’s encouragement.
Speaking to Variety, Ana emphasized that Tom Cruise consistently backs the film industry and values the power of cinema. “He really wants the industry and moviegoing to thrive,” Ana shared. “Since we’re working on our next film Deeper, he had the opportunity to watch Ballerina, and he genuinely enjoyed it. He’s a huge fan of the John Wick series.”
The 36-year-old star, who plays Eve Macarro—a trained assassin seeking revenge—described the experience of having someone like Tom Cruise appreciate her work as deeply meaningful. “It’s very special to have someone like him support this project. In general, it’s incredible to see actors uplifting one another in this industry. It reminds us that we all succeed when we support each other,” she added.
During his recent media interactions while promoting Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Tom Cruise also publicly praised Ballerina and its cast. The 62-year-old actor highlighted the hard work of Ana de Armas, Keanu Reeves, and director Len Wiseman. “I’ve always admired the John Wick franchise,” Tom said in an interview with the Associated Press. “Creating these kinds of action stories takes immense dedication, and Ballerina starring Ana is truly something special.”
Ballerina, directed by Len Wiseman, bridges the events between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4. Ana de Armas leads the story as a deadly assassin on a mission of vengeance against those who tore her world apart. The film is slated to hit theatres on June 6, 2025.
