Jimmy Donaldson, famously known as MrBeast, has set his sights on an Emmy nomination for his groundbreaking reality competition series Beast Games. As the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards approach, MrBeast is rallying support for the show, encouraging fans to vote in the Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Host categories.
Voting for nominations began on June 12 and will conclude on June 23, with the official list of nominees scheduled to be revealed on July 15. With over 600 shows contending across 15 categories, the competition is intense, with heavyweights like RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Amazing Race, The Traitors, and Top Chef in the mix.
In a recent interview with Variety, MrBeast shared the vision behind Beast Games. As the most subscribed individual content creator on YouTube with over 402 million subscribers, he noted that traditional 10-episode formats often struggle on the platform due to how the algorithm favors standalone viral videos. His intention with Beast Games was to push boundaries, offering deeper storytelling and a cinematic experience that can compete with mainstream TV content.
Importantly, MrBeast clarified that creating the show was never about revenue. “It wasn’t a money play,” he said. However, the show successfully reached new demographics, including a higher female viewership than his usual YouTube content — a shift he welcomed. Families also connected with the series, with many parents expressing gratitude for providing content that helped them bond with their children.
Looking forward, MrBeast confirmed that Beast Games Season 2 is already underway. This time, the show is set to feature more skill-based challenges and fewer elements of randomness. With ambitious sets and intense competitions, MrBeast promises an even more thrilling experience in the next installment.
“The games are so good. We’ve got epic sets. People’s minds are gonna be blown with this season,” he teased.
With strong fan engagement, a bold creative vision, and a commitment to clean family content, MrBeast is poised to shake up traditional television norms and make a serious mark at the Emmys.
