Looking to add a unique touch to your car? The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to hold an auction in August featuring 350 highly sought-after license plates, offering a rare chance to own a distinctive number plate.
Scheduled to start on August 11 and run for five days, the auction includes plates with two to five-digit numbers, recognized for their increasing value the fewer digits they contain. For instance, in 2024, a two-digit plate, AA16, fetched an impressive bid of Dhs7.32 million, while a three-digit plate AA999 sold for Dhs4.05 million.
This auction covers plates bearing codes from H through Z, including letters such as I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, and Y. Interested bidders must register starting August 4 and hold a valid Dubai traffic file.
To participate, bidders are required to submit a security deposit of Dhs5,000 via cheque payable to the RTA, along with a participation fee of Dhs120. Payments can be made in person at Customer Happiness Centres located in Umm Ramool, Al Barsha, and Deira or conveniently online via the RTA portal.
Successful bidders will need to complete their payments within ten working days to finalize ownership of their prized license plates. This auction promises to be highly competitive, so prospective buyers are encouraged to register early to secure their chance at a standout Dubai license plate.
