Hugh Jackman, the beloved star of Wolverine, recently expressed his admiration for Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma in a new interview. During an interview featured on Marvel India’s YouTube Shorts channel, Jackman shared his thoughts on cricket, a sport he is passionate about, while also promoting his highly-anticipated movie, Deadpool & Wolverine.
When asked about his favorite Indian cricketer, Jackman didn’t hesitate to name Rohit Sharma. “Right now? Rohit [Sharma]. You took the [World] Cup home! I’m glad. But honestly, he was a beast!” Jackman exclaimed. His co-star Ryan Reynolds, who was also present, agreed enthusiastically, remarking, “This is amazing!”
Rohit Sharma recently led the Indian team to victory in the T20 World Cup, triumphing over South Africa in a gripping final in Barbados. The celebration continued with a grand victory parade in Mumbai, where thousands of fans gathered to honor the team as they journeyed from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium in an open-top bus. Although the parade started late, it turned into a massive celebration of the newly-crowned world champions.
Sharma shared a photo of himself at Kensington Oval, symbolizing his joy and pride in the team’s achievement. He captioned the photo, “This picture epitomizes how I’m feeling right now. So many words but can’t find the right ones to express what yesterday meant to me but I will, and I will share them, but right now I’m basking in a dream come true for a billion of us.”
Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, directed by Shawn Levy.
