Fitness Expert Reveals 8 Essential Blood Tests That Predict Health Better Than Body Weight

Date:

Many people believe that a slim waistline or toned body equals good health, but fitness expert Dan Go has challenged this idea by explaining that weight does not always reflect true health status. In an Instagram post on August 30, 2025, he stressed the importance of looking beyond appearance and focusing on internal health metrics.

According to him, lab tests reveal what your body is really going through, while the scale only shows the surface. He shared that some people who look lean and healthy can actually be struggling with serious health risks, while others who may appear overweight can be metabolically strong.

The 8 Vital Tests That Predict Long-Term Health

1. Complete Blood Count (CBC):
Checks red and white blood cells, platelets, and hemoglobin. It helps detect anemia, infections, immune function, and even cancer risks.

2. Hemoglobin A1C:
Reflects average blood sugar levels over 2–3 months. High A1C increases the chances of diabetes, kidney failure, and heart disease.

3. Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP):
Monitors liver, kidneys, electrolytes, and blood sugar. Works like a full inspection of your body’s “systems” long before symptoms appear.

4. High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP):
A key indicator of inflammation. Elevated levels can predict higher risks of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

5. Apolipoprotein B (ApoB):
A stronger predictor of heart disease than cholesterol levels alone, tracking artery-clogging particles that build plaque.

6. Vitamin D Levels:
Most people are deficient, and low levels affect immunity, bone strength, mood, and energy.

7. Functional Hormone Panel:
Covers thyroid, adrenal, sex, and sleep hormones. Imbalances can cause fatigue, mood swings, poor recovery, and weight gain.

8. Alzheimer’s Blood Test (PrecivityAD2TM):
Detects Alzheimer’s disease risk with over 90% accuracy years before symptoms, allowing early action.

Why These Tests Matter

Dan Go emphasized that internal health measurements predict disease risk, aging, and early death far more accurately than body weight or physical appearance. He advises regular bloodwork—every six months if risk factors are present, or yearly if in good health.

While a flat stomach or six-pack may look impressive, these eight tests are what truly reveal long-term health and longevity.
