Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled two new public bus routes, enhancing connectivity for major residential areas across the city. The DH1 route, a circular path linking Dubai Hills to the Equity Metro station, aims to improve access to various public transport options within the emirate.
Additionally, the newly established DA2 route now connects DAMAC Hills to Dubai Studio City, providing a daily transportation option. Approximately 100,000 residents in Dubai Hills have faced challenges accessing the area without personal vehicles until now.
Previously, Dubai Hills Mall offered complimentary shuttle buses for tourists, covering routes to JBR, Al Barsha, Sheikh Zayed Road, and Palm Jumeirah. However, accessing the residential area required additional walking, taxi services, or personal driving.
The new DH1 bus route will operate hourly, starting at 7:09 AM, with the last departure at 10:09 PM on weekdays and 12:09 AM between Friday and Sunday.
The DA2 route, connecting DAMAC Hills and Dubai Studio City, has a fixed fare of AED 5 per trip. The first bus leaves DAMAC Hills at 5:47 AM, with the final trip departing at 9:32 PM daily. Buses on this route will run every two hours.
Home to around 30,000 residents and spanning approximately 55 million square feet in southern Dubai, DAMAC Hills 2 has previously relied on a community shuttle bus, which often reached full capacity during peak times, necessitating taxi use.
The final stop at Dubai Studio City offers residents access to further bus routes connecting to Dubai Metro stations, significantly enhancing their commute options.
