Xiaomi Launches Global Beta Access for HyperOS 3 Ahead of Official Rollout

Date:

Xiaomi has officially opened registrations for the global beta testing of HyperOS 3, its latest Android 16-based operating system. After being introduced in China in late August, the software is now making its way to international markets, giving users a chance to test new features before the stable launch. Industry insiders suggest that the company may announce the global rollout on September 24, though Xiaomi has yet to confirm the date.

HyperOS 3 is designed to deliver faster and smoother performance across Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices. Xiaomi claims it offers up to 30 percent better efficiency than HyperOS 2, with improved animations, redesigned system icons, updated Wi-Fi and battery indicators, and the introduction of the Super Island notification system—similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island.

Users who want to join the beta programme can register exclusively through the Xiaomi Community app. After signing in, navigate to Me > Beta Testing and complete the application form. Successful applicants will receive early access to HyperOS 3 builds via over-the-air (OTA) updates. However, as with all beta software, Xiaomi warns that bugs may cause instability. Users are advised to back up data and avoid installing the beta on their primary device.

The upcoming system also focuses on customization and AI-driven features. HyperOS 3 will bring AI dynamic wallpapers, cinematic lock screens, and enhanced personalization options. Productivity tools include an AI chatbot with on-screen context awareness, improved photo album sharing, and cross-device connectivity. This allows users to sync photos with iPhones, access apps on Macs, and manage reminders seamlessly across multiple platforms.

Security has also been strengthened with dual authentication, stronger encryption, and upgraded device search. Meanwhile, Xiaomi’s HyperCore technology ensures reduced CPU load by 4 percent and improved energy efficiency by 10 percent, making the operating system not only smarter but also more power-conscious.

Xiaomi first released the beta in China on August 29 for the Xiaomi 15 series, Redmi K80 series, and select tablets. More devices are expected to join the programme in October as global rollout preparations continue. With new AI-powered tools, better connectivity, and system-wide refinements, HyperOS 3 positions itself as a major leap forward for Xiaomi’s software ecosystem.
