The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 wrapped up with an emotional and heartwarming finale on September 17, 2025, when Belly and Conrad returned to the Cousins Beach house. Fans of the coming-of-age romance are now left wondering if there will be a fourth season of the beloved Prime Video series.
According to Entertainment Weekly, The Summer I Turned Pretty will not continue beyond season 3. The reason is simple: the series has reached the end of its source material. Adapted from Jenny Han’s popular novel trilogy, the show followed each of the three books in order—season 1 was based on The Summer I Turned Pretty (2009), season 2 adapted It’s Not Summer Without You (2010), and season 3 brought We’ll Always Have Summer to life.
Since Jenny Han never wrote a fourth installment, the creator and showrunner feels the story has been told in full. Speaking earlier this year, Han said: “Three books, three seasons. It feels right to me.”
Still, fans are not ready to say goodbye. The series finale included a heartfelt letter from Jenny Han, thanking readers and viewers for their love and loyalty over the years. Her message quickly went viral online, sparking speculation about whether Belly and Conrad’s love story could continue in the form of a movie adaptation or even a spinoff.
Han’s note read: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love you’ve shown The Summer I Turned Pretty all these years. Whether you’ve been with Belly since the very first book or joined us with the show, I’m so grateful you’ve made Belly’s story part of your summers. Maybe we’ll meet again one summer in Cousins.”
For now, The Summer I Turned Pretty remains a complete trilogy—both in print and on screen. While a fourth season isn’t in the cards, the possibility of revisiting the Cousins Beach universe through a film or related project has left fans hopeful.
