PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Motivates Pakistan Team in Dubai Nets with Stress Management Plan Ahead of India Asia Cup Clash

Date:

Pakistan is gearing up for another high-pressure battle against India in the Asia Cup Super Four stage at Dubai International Stadium. On Saturday, PCB chairman and Asian Cricket Council head Mohsin Naqvi paid a visit to the nets at the ICC Academy to encourage the squad. His presence came as the team rolled out a dedicated stress-relief strategy designed to handle the psychological strain of facing their arch-rivals.

To ensure players remain focused and confident, the Pakistan Cricket Board enlisted motivational expert Dr Raheel Ahmed. He has been working closely with the coaching staff and conducting one-on-one sessions with younger players to address mental lapses and improve focus under pressure. This move follows Pakistan’s earlier group-stage performances and highlights their emphasis on mental strength heading into Sunday’s marquee clash.

Interestingly, Pakistan cancelled their pre-match press conference for the second consecutive time, fueling speculation about the tense atmosphere in the camp. Last week’s fixture saw India secure a commanding seven-wicket win over Pakistan, overshadowed by controversy when Indian players declined to shake hands as a mark of solidarity with victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. The incident sparked outrage within the PCB, which demanded accountability from the match referee, though the ICC rejected their plea.

Despite tensions, Pakistan maintained their place in the tournament after defeating the UAE in their final group-stage match. However, controversy followed as leaked footage from a meeting between match referee Andy Pycroft and the Pakistan team surfaced online. The ICC later clarified the discussion, dismissing PCB’s claims of an apology.

As the cricketing world awaits the latest India-Pakistan encounter, Pakistan’s renewed focus on stress management and team motivation is expected to play a crucial role in their preparation. Fans around the globe are anticipating yet another intense chapter in one of the fiercest rivalries in world cricket.
