Nubia is preparing to launch its highly anticipated Nubia Z80 Ultra in China this October 2025. The new flagship smartphone will succeed last year’s Nubia Z70 Ultra and feature cutting-edge specifications, including a 144Hz full-screen display and the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset from Qualcomm.
The Nubia Z80 Ultra will showcase a 1/1.55-inch rear camera sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a seven-element lens setup, offering advanced photography capabilities. Following its predecessors, the phone will feature a full-screen design without notches or punch-hole cutouts, likely using an under-display selfie camera. The display will also support a 360Hz touch sampling rate and up to 3,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling, delivering a smooth and responsive user experience.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, based on 3nm process technology, the Z80 Ultra promises around 20 percent performance improvement over the previous generation. The processor includes two prime CPU cores clocked at 4.6GHz and six performance cores at 3.62GHz. Nubia joins other brands such as Xiaomi iQOO OnePlus and Realme in adopting Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset.
The Nubia Z80 Ultra is expected to bring significant upgrades over the Z70 Ultra, including enhanced performance, improved camera capabilities, and a premium user experience. The previous Z70 Ultra offered up to 24GB of RAM, a 6,150mAh battery with 80W fast charging, a 6.85-inch AMOLED display, and a triple rear camera system with a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens.
Fans and tech enthusiasts can look forward to the official pre-order and launch events in October, marking Nubia’s continued innovation in high-end smartphones with flagship specifications and immersive display and camera technology.
