Dubai Fountain Reopening Announced with Updated Show Timings and Major Upgrades

Date:

Dubai Fountain, one of Dubai’s most iconic attractions, is set to reopen on Wednesday, October 1, following a five-month closure for extensive upgrades. The famous fountain, located at Burj Khalifa Lake, underwent a major redevelopment to enhance safety, aesthetics, and overall visitor experience.

The first phase of the renovation involved draining the entire lake to allow for tiling, water insulation, and painting. These improvements ensure the fountain retains its signature beauty while maintaining long-term durability and reliability. Visitors can now look forward to enjoying the fountain’s stunning performances once again.

Emaar, the developer behind the fountain, confirmed that this reopening marks only the first stage of redevelopment. The second phase, scheduled for completion in Q2 2026, will introduce advanced features that combine cutting-edge technology, improved choreography, enhanced lighting, and upgraded sound systems to deliver an even more spectacular experience.

Mohamed Alabbar, Founder of Emaar, said, “The reopening of Dubai Fountain celebrates Dubai’s spirit and innovation. This landmark brings people together and creates unforgettable moments of wonder. Visitors will experience a fountain show that embodies the city’s energy and ambition.”

New Show Timings

Upon reopening, the Dubai Fountain will resume its regular schedule:

  • Afternoon shows: 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm daily; Fridays at 2:00 pm and 2:30 pm
  • Evening shows: 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm, every 30 minutes

These timings offer multiple opportunities for locals and tourists to enjoy the spectacular water performances, set against the backdrop of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall.

Upgrades and Technology

The redevelopment includes improved choreography, upgraded lighting systems, and advanced robotics to control water movements for a seamless show. During the closure, the surrounding promenade was enhanced with 500 meters of digital screens, providing visual entertainment for visitors while work was ongoing.

Visitors can expect fountains reaching up to 140 meters, shooting 22,000 gallons of water per show, combined with music and lights for a mesmerizing spectacle. The final phase in 2026 will elevate the experience further with modern technology and creative innovations, promising new moments of wonder.

The Dubai Fountain reopening signals a return of one of the emirate’s most beloved landmarks and is expected to attract crowds eager to witness the famous water shows at Dubai Mall once again.
