Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman has officially filed for divorce from her husband, country music star Keith Urban, after nearly two decades together. According to reports, the couple decided to part ways following a quiet separation earlier this year, ending what was considered one of Hollywood’s longest-running marriages.
Nicole, 58, and Keith, 57, first met at a Los Angeles gala in 2005 and tied the knot in June 2006. They share two daughters, Sunday Rose (17) and Faith Margaret (14), who will remain their top priority as they move forward.
Sources close to the family revealed that Kidman had been trying to save the marriage but ultimately could not prevent the separation. Her sister, Antonia Kidman, has been a strong source of support during this difficult time.
The couple reportedly spent much of the past summer apart—Kidman filming Practical Magic 2 in London while Urban was touring internationally with his High and Alive World Tour. Insiders suggest that their physical distance only highlighted ongoing issues.
Despite this split, both Nicole and Keith had often spoken highly of one another. In 2024, Nicole described Keith as her “deep love” and said his presence helped her overcome nerves at big events like the Met Gala. Yet, according to friends, the relationship had been unraveling for some time, with many close to the pair feeling that the split was inevitable.
Just three months ago, Nicole posted a heartfelt anniversary message on Instagram celebrating their 19 years of marriage. That post now serves as one of the final public displays of affection before the official divorce filing.
The separation marks the end of a celebrated Hollywood love story, but both stars are expected to continue focusing on their careers and family.
