Free Parking at These Dubai Metro Stations: How to Use Your Nol Card

Date:

Planning to use the Dubai Metro for your next commute?

Sometimes, residents of Dubai prefer to take a break from driving and opt for public transportation.

Good news for you: three metro stations offer car parks where you can park for free as long as you travel on the metro.

These stations are:

  • Centrepoint Metro Station in Al Rashidiya
  • Jabel Ali Metro Station in Jebel Ali
  • Etisalat by e& Metro Station in Al Qusais

If you prefer not to use the Metro, you can still use these car parks, but it will cost you about Dhs10 per hour (with a maximum of Dhs50 per day). So, it might be a good idea to invest in yearly or six-month passes.

How to get free parking? You need to use your nol card.

Scan your gold or silver nol card at the parking entrance. Use the same card to travel on the Metro, and it’ll automatically validate your parking. When leaving, simply scan your nol card at the exit.

Don’t have a nol card? Buy a Red nol ticket, use it to travel, and when exiting the parking lot, scan your card to validate your parking.

Important details: If you lose your nol card, you’ll incur a Dhs152 fine. Cars parked for more than 24 hours will face a Dhs100 daily fine (up to Dhs1,000), and after 48 hours, they are liable to be impounded.

Lastly, exit the car park within an hour of using the nol card on the Metro, or you’ll need to pay the parking fees.

Happy commuting.
