Amul honours Farhan Akhtar’s Hollywood debut as Ravi Shankar with special illustrated tribute

Date:

Farhan Akhtar’s entry into Hollywood has been marked with a creative nod from one of India’s most iconic brands. Soon after it was confirmed that the actor will portray legendary sitar virtuoso Pandit Ravi Shankar in Sam Mendes’ ambitious project The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, Amul India released a topical doodle celebrating the milestone.

Known for capturing pop culture moments through clever illustrations and wordplay, Amul’s artwork showed Farhan alongside Ravi Shankar holding a sitar. Staying true to its signature style, the brand captioned the creative with a playful pun that instantly resonated with fans across social media.

Farhan Akhtar responded to the tribute by sharing it on his Instagram Stories, thanking the brand with a warm message and heart emojis. His reaction further amplified the buzz around the announcement, with fans applauding both the casting choice and Amul’s timely gesture.

The upcoming film series is directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Sam Mendes and is structured as four interconnected biopics, each told from the viewpoint of one Beatles member. Farhan’s role as Ravi Shankar highlights the profound cultural connection between Indian classical music and the Beatles, particularly through Shankar’s mentorship of George Harrison during the 1960s.

This role represents a major global step for Farhan Akhtar, adding a Hollywood credit to his already diverse career as an actor director and producer. Following his recent appearance in the war drama 120 Bahadur, the portrayal of Ravi Shankar places Farhan at the centre of a historic East-meets-West musical narrative that influenced generations worldwide.
