Ingredients
- 500 grams chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 green chillies, sliced
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon jeera (cumin seeds)
- 1 teaspoon haldi (turmeric)
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon kasuri methi
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4 cup yoghurt
- Salt, to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Method
- Heat oil in a kadhai and add jeera, allowing it to splutter. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, tomatoes, and green chillies. Cook until tomatoes soften and oil separates.
- Mix in red chilli powder, haldi, salt, and coriander powder. Cook for a few minutes until aromatic.
- Add chicken pieces and coat them well with the masalas. Cook on high heat until partially cooked.
- Reduce heat and stir in yoghurt. Simmer on low heat until chicken is fully cooked.
- Finish by sprinkling kasuri methi and garam masala. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
