Sindhi Fish Curry is a classic delicacy from Sindhi cuisine, known for its rich and tangy flavors. This flavorful fish curry combines the essence of garlic, tomatoes, green chillies, and aromatic spices to create a dish that’s perfect for family meals. Ready in just 25 minutes, it’s simple, quick, and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 6-7 pieces of king fish
  • 3-4 green chillies, chopped
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric (haldi)
  • 3 tsp oil
  • Water as needed
  • 1 cup fresh coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

Method to Make Sindhi Fish Curry

  1. Wash the fish pieces thoroughly and marinate with salt, red chilli powder, turmeric, and oil. Rub well and set aside for 1 hour.
  2. Prepare a smooth paste by blending coriander leaves, green chillies, and garlic in a mixer grinder.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the marinated fish until golden on both sides.
  4. In another pan, add oil and the prepared coriander paste with some water. Cook for a few minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt, and tomato puree. Adjust water as needed and cook until the gravy comes to a boil.
  6. Arrange the fried fish pieces in a serving bowl and pour the hot gravy over them. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
