BCCI Announces ₹21 Crore Reward for Team India After Asia Cup 2025 Victory Over Pakistan

Date:

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled a massive reward for the Indian cricket team following their unbeaten run and championship triumph at the Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai. India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by five wickets in a tense finale, capping off a dominant tournament where the Men in Blue outclassed their rivals on three separate occasions.

The final clash was the only match where Pakistan offered a strong fight, but under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, India held their nerve and secured the silverware. With this win, India not only lifted the Asia Cup trophy but also cemented their preparation for next year’s World Championship, even after the retirement of senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja.

To celebrate the remarkable achievement, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia announced a prize money of ₹21 crore, which will be distributed among the players and support staff. “It was an extraordinary victory. As a part of the celebrations, BCCI is proud to reward our team and support group with ₹21 crore,” Saikia said in his official statement.

This prize pool comes in addition to the Asia Cup’s official winners’ amount of USD 300,000 (approximately ₹2.6 crore). Reports confirmed that India earned this as the official championship prize, marking one of the most lucrative rewards in the tournament’s history. However, the players declined to collect the trophy and medals directly from ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi, who also heads the PCB, citing their decision as a form of protest.

The board also celebrated the win with a strong message on social media, writing: “Three blows. Zero response. Asia Cup Champions. Message delivered. ₹21 crores prize money for the team and support staff.”

This announcement reflects the immense value placed on India’s cricketing success and highlights BCCI’s continued investment in its players. With this momentum, Team India looks ahead to bigger challenges while basking in the glory of an unbeaten Asia Cup campaign.
