Hollywood star Blake Lively is preparing to take the witness stand in the highly anticipated March 2026 trial against actor and director Justin Baldoni. According to her attorney Mike Gottlieb Lively will testify in court as the legal proceedings unfold surrounding claims of workplace misconduct and retaliation tied to their 2024 collaboration It Ends With Us.
Lively who rose to global fame with Gossip Girl and starred in Another Simple Favor recently broke her silence on the issue during her appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers acknowledging her legal battle publicly for the first time. Her legal team has since confirmed that she intends to share her full story in court. “The ultimate moment for a plaintiff’s story to be told is at trial,” her lawyer said in an interview with PEOPLE. “Of course she’s going to testify.”
Gottlieb also revealed that several key witnesses are expected to support Lively’s case including individuals who allegedly witnessed inappropriate behavior on the film set. These testimonies will play a central role in backing her claims of sexual harassment and subsequent retaliation.
While public curiosity grows around whether Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds will also testify no official comment has been made regarding his involvement. Meanwhile the legal team emphasized the importance of focusing on the key issue—alleged retaliation against Lively for raising concerns about sexual harassment. “There have been distractions put up to deflect attention from the core issue” Gottlieb stated “which is the campaign of retaliation launched after Ms. Lively came forward.”
The lawsuit stems from Lively’s accusations against Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer Studios following their joint work on the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. In response Baldoni denied the allegations and filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively her husband their publicist Leslie Sloane and Vision PR Inc. citing defamation civil extortion and more.
As both sides prepare for the 2026 trial the case continues to attract widespread attention with legal experts and fans watching closely for the next developments in what is shaping up to be one of Hollywood’s most significant courtroom showdowns.
