Cillian Murphy’s Peaky Blinders Film Finally Confirms Release Date for 2026

Date:

Fans of the Peaky Blinders universe can officially mark their calendars as the long-awaited film adaptation has locked in its global rollout. The movie, now titled Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, will premiere in select cinemas on March 6, 2026, giving audiences their first chance to see Cillian Murphy return as the legendary Tommy Shelby. Two weeks later, the film will make its worldwide streaming debut on Netflix starting March 20, 2026.

Directed by Tom Harper and written by original series creator Steven Knight, the movie reunites Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy with key cast members from the acclaimed TV series. Familiar faces include Sophie Rundle and Stephen Graham, joined by an impressive ensemble featuring Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth and Jay Lycurgo. Additional returning cast members include Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee and Ian Peck, keeping the Shelby legacy intact.

Set in Birmingham in 1940 during the turmoil of World War II, the story follows Tommy Shelby as he is forced out of self-imposed exile to confront a crisis threatening both his family and his nation. The official synopsis hints at Tommy’s most dangerous internal and external battle yet, where he must choose between confronting his legacy or burning everything down.

Murphy has expressed deep excitement for the project, calling it “one for the fans.” After the original series concluded with season six in 2022 and Murphy earned massive acclaim and an Academy Award for Oppenheimer, anticipation for his return as Tommy Shelby is higher than ever. With the film finally confirmed, the Peaky Blinders saga is entering a bold new chapter on the big screen and beyond.
