Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear that he is committed to staying at Al-Nassr and is focused on achieving success with the Saudi Pro League club. The Portuguese superstar, now 39, remains determined to secure trophies, even as his current contract is set to conclude at the end of the season. Despite speculation about his potential move to a new club during the winter transfer window, Ronaldo expressed his happiness in Saudi Arabia, where he and his family have embraced their new life.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner shared his optimism and joy during an interview with the official media channels of the Saudi Pro League. “I’m happy and my family is happy. We started a new life in this beautiful country. Life is good, football is good. In terms of individual and collective, we are still there. We are still improving,” Ronaldo remarked.
Although Al-Nassr has yet to mirror Ronaldo’s previous club successes in terms of trophies, he acknowledged the competitive nature of the Saudi Pro League, particularly against strong teams like Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad. “It’s hard to compete with teams like Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad, but we are still there, still pushing and fighting. Football is like that; you have good moments and bad moments. But, for me, the most important thing is to be professional, to push hard, respect the club, respect your contract, and believe that things will change – for Al-Nassr to try to win more titles,” Ronaldo added.
Having joined Al-Nassr in December 2022 following his departure from Manchester United, Ronaldo has faced challenges in replicating his past successes. His exit from Manchester United came after a controversial interview where he criticized the club’s management and facilities.
Ronaldo revealed his ambitions to claim the AFC Champions League trophy for Al-Nassr. “The [AFC] Champions League is something I want to win for the club. But the most important is to keep pushing and be professional,” he stated.
