Fitness enthusiasts in Dubai will soon have the opportunity to test their strength and endurance with the arrival of the exciting DEKA STRONG challenge ahead of the region’s first DEKA FIT competition.
The globally popular fitness concept is created by the team behind the Spartan Race and is gaining attention worldwide for its structured and competitive workout format. The UAE launch will feature a series of DEKA STRONG roadshow events before the main DEKA FIT race takes place later this month.
Participants will get the chance to prepare for the larger event through dedicated strength based challenges that focus on endurance agility and functional training exercises.
DEKA STRONG roadshow events in Dubai
The first roadshow event will be held at TK27 Gym on Friday March 13. Taking place between 7pm and 11pm the evening fitness challenge invites both beginners and experienced athletes to participate. Competitors will perform a variety of demanding movements including sled pushes sled pulls weighted carries and lunges.
Participants can enter individually or join as part of a team creating a competitive but supportive atmosphere. Entry prices begin at Dhs120 for team registrations while individual participants can join for Dhs165.
The second roadshow will take place the following day at Spirit Level Gym on Saturday March 14. This morning session runs from 7am until 1.30pm offering athletes another opportunity to experience the structured functional workout format before the main event.
Both roadshow challenges are designed for people who want to experience a demanding fitness competition without including running in the format.
Main DEKA FIT race at Skydive Dubai
Following the roadshow events the first ever DEKA FIT competition in the UAE will be hosted at Skydive Dubai on Saturday March 28.
The DEKA FIT format features ten functional workout zones connected by 500 metre running segments creating a total running distance of five kilometres throughout the course. Each fitness station is designed to test endurance power agility and athletic ability through a combination of strength based exercises.
Athletes can compete individually or join two person teams which allows participants to share the challenge with a training partner. Elite competitors will also have the chance to compete for cash prizes adding an extra level of excitement and competition to the event.
Entry options for the event vary depending on category. Spectator passes and family waves are free while age group entries begin at Dhs360. Elite categories and team heats range between Dhs320 and Dhs390 depending on the competition level.
The event marks an important milestone for functional fitness competitions in the UAE and is expected to attract athletes and fitness fans from across the region.
