Delicious and Nutritious Anjeer Halwa Recipe for a Cozy Winter Dessert

Anjeer Halwa is a delightful and nutritious dessert that is perfect for concluding a cozy winter meal. This easy-to-make halwa can be prepared in just under 30 minutes, making it an ideal choice for a quick yet satisfying treat.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cup dried figs
  • ½ cup khoya/mawa
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup chopped nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios, walnuts, raisins)
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
  • A few strands of saffron
  • Ghee
  • Almond slivers (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Soak the chopped figs in warm water for 2-3 hours until they become soft. Drain the water and blend the soaked figs into a smooth paste using a mixer.
  2. In a pan, heat ghee. Add the fig paste to the hot ghee and cook for 7-8 minutes, stirring until the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  3. Add khoya to the fig paste, ensuring all ingredients are well combined. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Add sugar to the halwa according to your taste. Alternatively, jaggery or brown sugar can be used. Continue cooking until the halwa thickens and has a uniform texture.
  5. Add cardamom powder, chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, raisins, walnuts), and saffron strands to the halwa to enhance the flavor. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, mixing well.
  6. Once the halwa has thickened, garnish with extra nuts. Your delicious Anjeer Halwa is now ready to serve.
