A vibrant and mesmerizing light art festival, Dhai Dubai, is making a highly anticipated return to Dubai’s Expo City this year. From Wednesday, November 12 through Tuesday, November 18, Al Wasl Plaza will transform into a glowing canvas showcasing Emirati creativity and heritage through stunning light installations.
This festival celebrates the power of light, artistic legacy, and cultural expression, utilizing the cutting-edge immersive dome at Al Wasl Plaza to captivate visitors. The 2025 edition will focus on how traditional Emirati culture continues to influence contemporary art in Dubai’s thriving creative scene.
Dhai Dubai is a collaborative effort between Expo City Dubai and the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. This initiative supports local artists while positioning Dubai as a global arts destination. Visitors can expect seven new light sculptures by prominent Emirati creators representing three generations, including artists such as Fatma Lootah, Mohammed Kazem, Khalid AlBanna, Alia Bin Omair, AlZaina Lootah, Ahmed Al Areef Al Dhaheri, and Hessa Alghandi.
Each piece is designed to explore themes of spirituality, emotion, and cultural identity, offering a unique window into Emirati heritage. The festival also includes engaging artist talks and public discussions held at the House of Arts, aimed at inspiring the community and fostering creative dialogue.
Amna Abulhoul, Co-Curator of Dhai Dubai and Executive Creative Director of Entertainment and Experiences at Expo City Dubai, expressed how the festival embodies the spirit of Dubai. She described Dhai Dubai as a fusion of the city’s rich past and its innovative future, where art becomes a bridge and creative dreams find light and space to flourish.
