Travellers departing from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) should be aware of potential delays and cancellations affecting several routes. The disruption comes after UAE airspace was temporarily closed on Monday June 23. Although airspace has since reopened, airlines continue to adjust schedules to manage the situation.
Dubai Airports issued a notice reminding passengers to verify their flight status before leaving for the airport. The notice highlighted that flights to certain destinations, especially India, could be impacted due to ongoing regional airspace restrictions.
In a recent update, Dubai Airports stated that all operations had fully resumed after a precautionary suspension overnight. Authorities reassured the public that the safety of passengers and airline staff remains the top priority. Despite the resumption of services, some flights may still face delays or rerouting.
Emirates and flydubai, two of Dubai’s major carriers, confirmed several cancellations. Emirates has suspended all flights to and from Tehran until Saturday July 5. Additionally, flights to Baghdad will start again on Tuesday July 1, while flights to Basra are set to resume on Wednesday July 2. Emirates advised passengers with connecting flights through Dubai and final destinations in Iran Iraq or other affected areas to check with their travel agents or local offices for rebooking options.
Emirates emphasized that while some routes were adjusted mid-flight, there were no diversions, and flights continue to operate with paths well away from conflict zones. Passengers should expect possible delays due to rerouting and airspace congestion.
flydubai has also confirmed ongoing adjustments. The airline suspended flights to Iran Iraq Israel and St. Petersburg until Monday June 30. However, daily flights to Damascus Syria have resumed from Thursday June 26. flydubai expects to return to its full network schedule starting Tuesday July 1.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged all citizens residents and visitors to stay updated on travel advisories by contacting airlines directly. Travellers are strongly encouraged to check their flight status frequently and arrive at the airport with additional time to spare.
Dubai Airports continues to coordinate closely with airlines to minimize inconvenience and ensure the smooth movement of passengers. The UAE’s emergency response plan remains in place to address any further disruptions efficiently.
Passengers are advised to stay informed by checking official airline websites and social media channels for the latest information on departures arrivals and rebookings.
