Gamers across the UAE can start counting down as the Dubai Esports and Games Festival has officially locked in its dates for 2026 promising a bigger and more inclusive celebration of gaming culture. Following a hugely successful 2025 edition that welcomed more than 45,000 visitors the festival will take over Dubai from Friday May 8 through to Sunday May 24 2026 with a packed schedule of competitive events interactive showcases and family-friendly activities.
Launched in 2022 the festival has quickly become one of the region’s most important gaming events and this year it will lean into the UAE’s Year of the Family theme by creating more ways for players of all ages to take part. Expect a citywide lineup featuring esports tournaments creative challenges educational sessions and community-driven experiences designed to bring gamers parents and industry professionals together.
One of the main highlights will be the return of GameExpo and GameExpo Summit which will run at Dubai World Trade Centre from Friday May 22 to Sunday May 24. Visitors can explore the latest game launches alongside nostalgic retro titles immersive interactive zones and live competitions hosted on a main stage. The expo space will be divided into ten themed areas including the Neo Tokyo District Battle Arena and Velocity Garage with more than 100 gaming consoles available to try.
Popular fan-favourite events such as Play Beyond and the Dubai Cosplay Championship are also set to return while DEF 2026 introduces new additions to keep things fresh. For the first time the festival is partnering with LEGO Certified Stores to create a dedicated LEGO experience where younger visitors can join interactive building challenges and hands-on creative zones.
Registration is now open for fans students teachers and industry participants who want to be part of DEF 2026. Early bird tickets for GameExpo are already available with prices starting from Dhs40. Registrations for The Narrows are open while cosplay competition details will be announced soon via the official Dubai Esports and Games Festival website.
