Motorists across Dubai are advised to plan their weekend routes carefully as significant road closures will be implemented for the upcoming Dubai Run 2025. The large-scale fitness event, part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, is expected to draw massive crowds, with tens of thousands taking part in the early-morning run through the heart of the city.
The Roads and Transport Authority confirmed that several major roads will be temporarily closed on Sunday November 23 between 3am and 10am to ensure a safe and seamless experience for all participants. With runners taking over key areas of the city, early commuters may experience delays unless alternative routes are used.
According to the RTA, sections of Sheikh Zayed Road from the Trade Centre Roundabout to Al Hadiqa Road bridge will be closed during the event. Lower Financial Centre Street will also be shut between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road. Additional diversions include one-way closures toward Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard and Al Sukook Street. Parking spaces parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road will remain inaccessible during the closure window.
Dubai Run continues to be a signature highlight of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, encouraging residents and visitors to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. The citywide fitness festival, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 2017, offers a packed schedule of free wellness activities, sports classes, and community events throughout the month.
With thousands expected to participate, the RTA advises all road users to check updates, consider alternate routes, and allow extra travel time to avoid disruptions during the early morning closures.
