Dubai Metro Extends Service for 43 Hours During New Year 2025/26 Celebrations

Date:

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed that the Dubai Metro will operate for 43 consecutive hours to accommodate New Year’s Eve festivities. The Red and Green Lines will run non-stop from 5am Wednesday December 31 to 11.59pm Thursday January 1 2026, while the Dubai Tram will operate from 6am December 31 until 1am Friday January 2.

The extended hours aim to reduce road congestion during Dubai’s massive celebrations, which include 48 fireworks displays at 40 locations, such as Burj Khalifa, Global Village, Hatta, and Expo City Dubai. The Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall Metro station may close at 5pm on December 31 if crowds exceed capacity, with alternative stations available at World Trade Centre, Emirates Towers, Financial Centre, and Business Bay.

Visitors can enjoy fireworks, laser shows, lights, and fountain performances at Burj Khalifa. Over 1,300 buses will also operate and 20,000 parking spaces will be available. Dubai’s festive season draws hundreds of thousands of tourists, making the extended Metro and Tram hours a vital part of city planning.
