Dubai is preparing to unveil a breathtaking new attraction that will redefine the city’s artistic landscape — the Dubai Museum of Art (DUMA), a floating cultural landmark designed by world-renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando. This extraordinary structure will rise majestically above the serene waters of Dubai Creek, embodying the perfect blend of modern creativity and Emirati heritage.
The architectural design of DUMA draws inspiration from the sea and pearls, timeless symbols of Dubai’s history and cultural identity. The museum is not merely a venue for showcasing artworks but a piece of art itself, set to become one of the most iconic landmarks in the world.
Announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the museum aligns with Dubai’s ambition to position itself as a global hub for culture, creativity, and innovation.
The museum will feature five stories above water, with expansive exhibition galleries on the first and second floors, a restaurant and VIP lounge on the third, and educational spaces on the ground and basement levels. Visitors can look forward to art fairs, panel discussions, lectures, and cultural programs that nurture creativity and encourage artistic dialogue.
DUMA will also include a library, study rooms, and world-class art training programs designed to shape the next generation of creative leaders. During the official launch, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that “Culture and art are the soul of a city and a lens through which its progress is seen.”
The Dubai Museum of Art will serve as a new beacon for culture and innovation, further cementing Dubai’s status as one of the world’s leading creative capitals. While the official opening date has not been announced yet, the much-anticipated museum is expected to open soon, offering visitors an unforgettable blend of architecture, art, and inspiration.
