Ingredients
- 1 cup roasted peanuts, coarsely ground
- 2 medium boiled potatoes, mashed
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- A pinch of asafoetida
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Fresh coriander, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Oil for shallow frying
Method
- In a mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes and coarsely ground peanuts.
- Add red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, and a pinch of asafoetida.
- Mix in bread crumbs, squeeze in lemon juice, add freshly chopped coriander, and season with salt.
- Blend all ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into small portions and shape into flat round tikkis.
- Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the tikkis over medium heat.
- Cook one side for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip gently and cook the other side until crispy and golden.
- Serve hot with green chutney or your favorite dipping sauce.
