Easy Peanut Tikki Recipe – Crispy, Spicy, and Delicious

Learn how to make Peanut Tikki, a quick and easy snack made with coarsely ground peanuts, mashed potatoes, and aromatic spices. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside, these tikkis are ideal as an appetizer or evening snack. Serve them with green chutney for a burst of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup roasted peanuts, coarsely ground
  • 2 medium boiled potatoes, mashed
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Fresh coriander, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for shallow frying

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes and coarsely ground peanuts.
  2. Add red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, and a pinch of asafoetida.
  3. Mix in bread crumbs, squeeze in lemon juice, add freshly chopped coriander, and season with salt.
  4. Blend all ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  5. Divide the mixture into small portions and shape into flat round tikkis.
  6. Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the tikkis over medium heat.
  7. Cook one side for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Flip gently and cook the other side until crispy and golden.
  9. Serve hot with green chutney or your favorite dipping sauce.
