Enrique Iglesias Gets Emotional as Mumbai Fans Sing ‘Hero’ During Sold-Out Concert

Date:

Mumbai experienced an unforgettable night as global pop superstar Enrique Iglesias returned to India after 13 long years, delivering a spectacular sold-out performance at MMRDA Grounds on Thursday. With around 25,000 passionate fans cheering and singing along, the Latino hitmaker brought a wave of nostalgia and high-energy excitement to the city.

The concert showcased Enrique’s beloved hits including Bailamos, Escape, Bailando, and Ring My Bells, with fans dancing and singing throughout the 90-minute show. He even interacted closely with the crowd, creating moments that will stay etched in the hearts of his followers.

One of the most emotional highlights came when Enrique began his timeless hit Hero. As he performed the heartfelt ballad, the entire venue erupted into a powerful sing-along. Overwhelmed by the love, the 50-year-old artist knelt on stage, bowing in gratitude as fans filled the night air with every lyric.

Lighter moments added fun to the event — playful fans tossed phones toward the stage hoping for a selfie, and Enrique obliged with a couple before security stepped in. He also went down to the barricades to shake hands and even planted a kiss on a fan’s cheek, sending the crowd wild.

While a few attendees wished he had performed tracks like Rhythm Divine and Addicted, the energy remained electric throughout. To ensure visibility for all, organizers set up an additional ramp stage extending into the general area, where Enrique performed a handful of songs up close.

A star-studded audience also lit up the venue, with Bollywood celebrities such as Malaika Arora, Vidya Balan, Rakul Preet Singh, Rubina Dilaik, Jackky Bhagnani, Abhinav Shukla, Shweta Basu Prasad, and Anu Malik joining the celebration.

Opening acts by Progressive Brothers and Jonita Gandhi warmed up the crowd before Enrique took over with an exhilarating performance. This marks his third visit to India, and he is set to thrill fans once again with a second concert at the same venue on Friday night — expected to draw an even bigger audience.
