Fairphone 6 Debuts Globally With Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 OLED Display and Easily Replaceable Battery

Date:

Fairphone has officially introduced its latest sustainable smartphone — the Fairphone 6 — in several international markets. Staying true to its commitment to ethical production and longevity, the Dutch company has launched this modular device with a strong focus on repairability and environmental responsibility. The phone features a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display with Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and it runs Android 15 straight out of the box.

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, the Fairphone 6 includes 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD. The smartphone is engineered with 12 user-replaceable parts and comes with an impressive five-year warranty. In addition, the handset is guaranteed to receive eight years of software support until 2033, making it one of the longest-supported Android phones on the market.

Photography is handled by a dual rear camera system, headlined by a 50MP Sony Lytia 700C sensor with OIS and up to 10x digital zoom, accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, a 32MP selfie camera ensures sharp video calls and self-portraits. The phone also includes a dedicated ‘Moments’ mode, which allows users to temporarily limit their device use to five selected apps for better digital wellbeing.

Durability isn’t compromised — the Fairphone 6 is IP55-rated for splash and dust resistance and meets MIL-STD-810H military standards for toughness. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, USB-C, and support for multiple global navigation systems like Galileo and Beidou. Security is ensured via facial recognition and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The standout feature is its 4,415mAh removable battery that supports 30W fast charging and is designed for easy user replacement. Fairphone emphasizes the device’s eco-conscious build, incorporating 14 fair or recycled materials and offering full e-waste neutrality.

Available in Horizon Black, Forest Green, and Cloud White, the standard version is priced at EUR 599 (approx. ₹59,000), while the privacy-first variant running /e/OS is available at EUR 649 (approx. ₹65,000). Additional accessories such as a protective case, flip case, lanyard, finger loop, and card holder are also offered to enhance personalization and functionality.
