Fitness Coach with 18 Years Experience Shares 3 Proven Tips to Lose Weight and Maintain Results Long Term

Date:

For many individuals, the journey toward fitness often begins with a strong focus on shedding extra weight. However, once the desired results are achieved, consistency tends to decline, leading to gradual weight regain. This highlights an important truth—fitness is not just about losing weight but sustaining it over time through consistent habits and mindset.

Chennai-based fitness expert Raj Ganpath, who has 18 years of industry experience and is known for his Slow Burn Method, emphasizes that lasting weight management requires more than temporary lifestyle changes. According to him, real transformation comes from building habits that can be maintained for years, not just weeks.

One of his key insights is that short-term strategies often lead to short-term outcomes. Crash diets or extreme workout routines may help people lose weight quickly, but they are rarely sustainable. Instead, Raj advises choosing a routine that fits naturally into daily life. If a diet or workout plan feels impossible to maintain beyond a few months, it is unlikely to deliver long-term success. Sustainable habits, even if slower in showing results, are far more effective in keeping weight off permanently.

Another important point he highlights is that maintaining weight requires nearly the same level of effort as losing it. Many people become disciplined with exercise, nutrition, sleep, and stress management during their weight loss phase, but relax these habits once they reach their goal. This reduction in effort often leads to weight gain. Raj stresses that consistency in these core areas must continue even after achieving desired results, as maintenance is an ongoing process.

He also encourages shifting the mindset from “weight loss” to “weight management.” This perspective helps individuals focus on long-term health rather than temporary goals. Weight management includes not only losing weight but also maintaining it and adapting habits over time. By tracking progress, making mindful adjustments, and staying committed, individuals can sustain their results for years.

Overall, Raj’s approach focuses on realistic, consistent, and long-term strategies that prioritize sustainability over quick fixes, helping individuals achieve lasting fitness success.
