Date:

Google has rolled out its latest October feature drop for the Gemini app, introducing several new updates and tools across Veo 3.1, Gemini 2.5 Flash, and Canvas. The update aims to enhance user experience by offering new ways to create content, access step-by-step guidance, and receive personalized recommendations.

The Veo 3.1 update now enables users to produce videos with realistic textures, improved camera control, and integrated sound effects, making video creation more precise and intuitive. Meanwhile, Gemini Canvas allows instant presentation creation by adding a topic or uploading a file. The tool automatically generates themed slides with relevant visuals and layouts, exportable directly to Google Slides. This feature is currently available for Pro subscribers, with a wider rollout planned for Free users.

The Gemini 2.5 Flash update enhances guidance on complex topics with step-by-step instructions, improved organization of responses, and better understanding of diagrams and images for notes. Additionally, the LaTeX integration has been upgraded on the web version, enabling users to copy formulas, edit directly in Canvas, and download projects in PDF format efficiently.

Beyond productivity, the October drop expands Gemini’s capabilities to entertainment. With Gemini for Google TV, users can ask conversational queries to receive personalized recommendations for shows and movies, along with supporting YouTube video content.

This feature drop demonstrates Google’s commitment to integrating AI across creative, educational, and entertainment workflows, making Gemini a versatile platform for professional and personal use.
