Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein Trailer Reveals Jacob Elordi and Oscar Isaac in a Dark Reimagining

Date:

Netflix has released the official trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, giving fans their first full look at the chilling adaptation of Mary Shelley’s legendary tale. The film stars Jacob Elordi, Oscar Isaac, and Mia Goth in lead roles, promising a haunting experience that blends gothic horror with human emotion.

The trailer introduces Oscar Isaac as the ambitious scientist Victor von Frankenstein, who dares to defy nature by creating life through an experiment that unleashes terrifying consequences. Jacob Elordi takes on the role of the resurrected creature, with powerful scenes showing his transformation into a tragic yet monstrous figure. Mia Goth plays a crucial supporting role, adding depth to the dark narrative.

Del Toro’s film has already impressed critics after screenings at the Venice Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, and Telluride Film Festival, where it earned praise and was named runner-up for the prestigious TIFF People’s Choice Award. The movie’s cinematography, visual effects, and emotional depth set it apart as one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.

The director revealed in an interview that his vision of Frankenstein is less about science gone wrong and more about the human spirit, forgiveness, and compassion. For him, the story represents listening, empathy, and understanding rather than just a cautionary tale.

Frankenstein will premiere in select theaters on October 17, 2025, before arriving on Netflix streaming worldwide on November 7, 2025. With its powerful cast, gothic visuals, and del Toro’s signature storytelling, this adaptation is expected to captivate both fans of the classic novel and modern horror enthusiasts.
